Conyo: Then and Now

I don’t know with you guys, but when I was younger the word Conyo was used in a different context—it was used to refer to people who often speak in English. These are the people who speak in English simply because they find it easier to express themselves using the said language. Now, Conyo refers to people who speak like..

“OMG it’s like so mainit in here let’s go somewhere else!”

“Can you like get away from me you’re so nakakairita!”

“Can you make punas naman your face ‘cause you’re so sweaty!”

Language changes through time. One word can be used in a positive way now, but eventually it could be used to  imply something negative.
